Attorney Eileen J. Shuman specializes in divorce, custody, child support, alimony, division of property, pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, uncontested divorce, divorce planning, military family law issues, military divorce, domestic violence and all other family-related legal issues. Eileen was identified as a Georgia SuperLawyer Rising Star for 2010-2011 and 2013-2016 and as a Georgia SuperLawyer for 2020 - 2023.
Prior to entering private practice, Eileen served as a law clerk for two superior court judges in the domestic relations division of the Augusta Judicial Circuit in Augusta, Georgia.
Eileen is a graduate of the University of Georgia and received her law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. She was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2003. Eileen was later admitted to the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Georgia Court of Appeals in 2007.
Eileen is a member of the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia as well as the Atlanta, DeKalb and Cobb Bar Associations. She served as Membership Chair of the Cobb Bar Association in 2004. She served as an Executive Board Member to the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association from 2014 until 2022.
Eileen serves as a Guardian Ad Litem in cases involving custody disputes of minor children.
Eileen has been volunteering with the Cherokee Family Violence Center, an organization dedicated to enhancing the safety of Cherokee County’s victims of domestic violence, since 2004. In 2015, Eileen began volunteer work with the DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. She is a life member of Hadassah.
Eileen is co-president and a founding member of the Dunwoody Bar Association, a professional organization for lawyers living and working in Dunwoody, Georgia.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Eileen resides with her two dogs, Penny and Semper Fi "Sempy" (named in honor of her father's service as a member of the United States Marine Corps).

Throughout her legal career, she specialized in divorce, custody, child support, alimony, division of property, post-divorce modification, contempt and all family-related legal issues. Mona was selected for the Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers in 2011 and 2012 and was designated as a top-rated Georgia lawyer in 2012.
Mona is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received her J.D. from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1980. She was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1981 and began private practice immediately thereafter.
Mona was admitted to the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Court of Appeals of Georgia in 1981. She was also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.
As a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Mona served on the Family Law Study Committee and the Attorney Client Relations Committee. She continues to serve as a member of the Election Committee for the State Bar. Mona also served on the Board of Directors and as the Co-Chair of the Professional Development Committee for the DeKalb Bar Association.
An active member of the Jewish community, Mona was honored, along with other dedicated community members, as a Jewish Woman of the Year by the Atlanta Jewish Federation. She is also a life member of Hadassah.
Mona was married to her late husband, Gerald, for 43 years. Together, they raised two daughters: Eileen, with whom she practices law, and Amy, wife to Jeremy and mom to Mona’s two granddaughters.
Mona is enjoying Emeritus status after a distinguished and honorable career helping families during difficult times.
